Vending machine for unjustified expectations

Bachelor’s thesis

Media theory | Design history | Editorial

The book examines how design reflects and shapes social confusion and progress in a time of rapid technological change. Tracing design history from Modernism to the present, this Bachelor Thesis examines shifting perceptions of designers' roles and evolving expectations. Through interviews and analysis of media, industrial design, UX/UI, Marketing and Al use cases it highlights how design serves as both a solution to and a source of cultural disorientation. By uncovering hidden failures often omitted from public view, the book encourages deeper reflection on design's role in shaping society. Aimed at students and professionals in design, marketing, and media, it offers insights into user expectations and design's influence in contemporary culture.
